Things I love | Part II
There is something almost meditative about making a list of the things we love.
There is something almost meditative about making a list of the things we love. Not the grand, unreachable dreams, but the simple, familiar objects we turn to every day. These things, though small, hold meaning. They gather our gestures, absorb our rhythms, and reflect back something intimate—something true. They are the tools of our daily rituals, the markers of our routines. These objects become part of our language, part of our memory.
1. SILVER
One of the great privileges of my life has been meeting and knowing the artist Michele Oka Doner. I'm fortunate to own a few of her creations, among them, a strikingly sculptural silver spoon and a beautiful piece from her collaboration with Christofle. Her work is timeless and elemental: at once organic and modern.
You can still find some of her Christofle pieces at auction and they remain as captivating today as when they were first created. I couldn't recommend her work more highly. But what moves me most is not just the work itself it's her lifestyle, her values, her choices, and her style. Michele is one of the women who has deeply influenced me, in ways both profound and lasting. I highly recommend her work.
2. MY CURRENT FAVORITE SCENT
Foin Coupé by Diptyque fills your home with the scent of spring fresh, green, and quietly joyful. Perhaps it's the season, but there's something about this fragrance that captures the essence of open fields and sunlit air. It feels like a breath of happiness. I can't recommend it enough.
3. THE SUPPLEMENTS I LOVE
Everyone's needs are different, but mine are fairly straightforward. I need energy, lots of it, because I'm constantly on the move. Minerals and a potent Vitamin C are non-negotiables for me. Zinc is a must to keep my immune system strong. Vitamin D has become essential too as there's so much talk about its importance. Ashwagandha helps ease my nervous system, gently lowering cortisol levels and keeping me just a bit more grounded. For travel and jet lag, Healthy Cell has been my favorite discovery so far as it helps keep my rhythm intact. And then there's Oil of Oregano, which might just be my favorite of all. Most of my sensitivities begin in my stomach, and I've always believed that if your digestion is strong, everything else follows. In Morocco, when you're not feeling well, they serve oregano and thyme tea to cleanse and calm the gut. That ritual stayed with me. This is my daily rhythm. Occasionally, I'll add a probiotic or an omega, both of which I should take more often, but this is my core. My way of staying centered, strong, and healthy.
4. FAVORITE CO
I've already started wearing these to death and it's not even summer yet. These CO sandals have quickly become a staple in my wardrobe. They pair effortlessly with everything I want to wear right now: wide-leg trousers, long skirts, easy dresses, even denim. The color is rich and warm what I'd call quietly delicious and the silhouette is simple yet refined. But most of all, I find them incredibly flattering on the foot: the proportions, the cut, the balance between structure and ease. They're the kind of sandals you don't have to think about—just slip on and go, knowing they'll elevate whatever you're wearing without trying too hard. A true wardrobe workhorse, wrapped in elegance.
5. DONABE RICE COOKER
I love to cook. I don't always have time every night, but I try to cook for my son and me at least five times a week. I also love hosting dinner parties—it's one of my favorite ways to spend time with people I care about. The one item I use most in my kitchen is my Donabe. I've tried electric rice cookers. They're easier to clean but nothing compares to the way a Japanese Donabe makes rice. Not only does it cook rice perfectly, but it's also so beautiful that you can serve the rice right in the pot. I love adding spices like turmeric, saffron, dill, or ginger the flavor is incredible. It's easily my favorite thing in the kitchen.
6. LINGERIE
Lingerie has always been my weakness and my quiet obsession. I don't shop impulsively, but when it comes to beautiful underthings, all logic disappears. Maybe it's the belief that what lies beneath should be just as exquisite as what's shown to the world. This photo captures a few of my latest indulgences from ERES, alongside a longtime companion: my beloved strapless corset from Dolce & Gabbana. I'm the furthest thing from being a Dolce girl yet their lace has italian poetry I can't resist. This corset has become a quiet essential—worn with trousers, skirts, beneath jackets or cardigans. It's the kind of piece you return to again and again.
7. BODY SCRUB
And The Moon is my absolute must-have for the shower or bath. It does everything I need at once which, for me, is essential. It exfoliates gently, deeply hydrates, and leaves behind the most heavenly scent. It's one of those rare products that transforms a simple shower into something indulgent. If there's one thing I can't live without in my routine, it's this.
8. FAVORITE GIFT
Staying in the world of silver one of my most treasured pieces is a gift from my dearest friend, Garance Doré: a silver ashtray I absolutely adore. It's timeless, elegant, and impossibly chic a perfect reflection of her taste and generosity. I've always loved giving and receiving gifts outside of the expected occasions. I'm weirdly horrible at giving gifts on nominated dates: birthdays, Christmas etc. I panic. Birthdays and holidays are lovely, of course, but there's something far more meaningful about a spontaneous gesture when you see something and think of someone, and for no reason other than love or friendship, you decide to give. This ashtray came to me in that way, which is why I cherish it so much. Well, that and the fact that now and then, when Garance comes over and we need to have a proper life download, we'll share a cigarette and use it together. A beautiful object made even more beautiful by the moments it holds.
9. EYE GLOSS
It may not look like much at first glance, but for a makeup minimalist like me, this little tube is a secret weapon. I've never mastered eyeshadow nor do I really want to but this gloss is effortless. It adds the softest glow to the eyelids, catching the light just enough to make the eyes feel brighter, more awake, more alive. I'm genuinely surprised more beauty brands don't make something like it. It's subtle, luminous, and requires almost no technique which is my kind of beauty essential.
10. MY SKIN MANTRA
This is my skin mantra. After I had my son, my skin which had always been clear suddenly began to break out, and I developed dermatitis. NIGHTMARE. Everything I applied seemed to make it worse. Out of desperation, I fell down a rabbit hole of research and stumbled across an old blog post that mentioned zinc as a barrier protectant and treatment for dermatitis. I tried it and never looked back. Now, I mix a small dab of zinc ointment into my daily moisturizer. Yes, your skin may look a little white for five minutes, but the glow that follows is absolutely worth it. It calms inflammation, strengthens the skin's barrier, and leaves my complexion soft and clear. It's $10 on Amazon truly the best-kept secret, and the best deal in town.
